This is the little swiveling loop on the end of a generic power door lock motor. I find these motors/transmission combos to be extremely useful in projects that need a cheap linear actuator. They are much stronger than a solenoid and they are available from various Chinese importers online for around $4. I primarily use them for retrofitting classic Mercedes to central door lock/remote door lock controls.
I broke the eyelet on the one in my car door. Instead of buying a new lock and soldering it in I decided to make a new eyelet on my 3D printer. It is a pretty tough item to machine from metal but it is rather easy to design and print for 3D printing.
I tested my design and it is quite strong if it is printed in the lying down orientation. I printed it in PLA plus. These eyelets actually take very high peak forces from the the actuator because they crash into their limits while moving fast. I intend to remix the part for other tips like hooks, ball joints and threaded inser
