DC 380 motor is a very good cost-effective DC motor. It provides sufficient power for the plastic models, wood, and light-duty metal hobby work. The cost is really cheap. I use some junk DVD parts (typically the 3 mm metal slide bars) and the Sleeve Bearing Sliding combination to make the drill move very smooth and precise. This is the key point to keep the whole machine very small and very stable. I use 90 mm slide bars. You can easily get 100x3 mm stainless bar from Amazon. The mini drill press can be used as a drill machine or an Endmill machine. The head moves very smoothly without shaking. Hope you will like them. Please share it with your friends. Thanks a lot.
The base already make the 100 mm and 90 mm option position. You can select one of them to use. I print the model using 0.2 mm height for all parts except the base. Base I printed with 0.3 mm height. The model size is 110X50X175 mm.
Some stuff I used in this model: (I use the DVD sliding bar)
