A 3D Printed DIY Speaker Project
Print & Play 15 started as an internal hobby project at Scan-speak. The goal was simple. Can we build a seriously enjoyable two-way speaker using a 3D printer, a soldering iron, and a pair of surplus drivers from the shelf.
No product strategy. No cost target. No marketing brief. Just curiosity and fun.
The drivers were selected from available surplus stock. Not because they were the newest or most expensive. Simply because they were there. The challenge was to make them work together properly.
The result is a compact two-way speaker with a fully 3D printed enclosure and a classic passive crossover.
Drivers:
Woofer: 15W/4434G00
Tweeter: D3004/606200
3D Printing:
The enclosures were printed in PLA on a Bambu Lab P1S. The infill percentage of the main cabinet parts were adjusted so that each part used just under one spool with 1 kg of filament. In total about 2.5 kg of filament were used for the two prototype cabinets.
The printer should be able to handl
