I made this for my little son's train-shaped furniture: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7273535
The lock features a foldable handle such that small children can't break it. It is opened/closed by 90° turns of the handle.
You can find the horizontal version here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7278468
Additional parts needed (to assemble the handle):
- 1x M3 16mm countersunk screw
- 1x M3 threaded brass insert
- Glue to attach the bolts to the outer gear
Notes:
- I recommend printing the handle so that the axis of the holes is vertically aligned. The handle is the only part that requires supports.
- The part with the outer gear needs to be printed twice
-I wanted a screw connection in the handle for additional stability. You can also glue any metal rod/screw into the handle without brass insert, if you don't have any.
- The brass insert is installed in the handle's pivot, not the handle itself. When you install the brass insert with a soldering iron, the hole will be blocked on
