At this point I still consider this a work in progress.
This is my attempt to mount an E3d v6 on my printrbot without using the printed adapter that is usually glued to the top of the E3d and clamped into the extruder.
In the end I was able to get the E3d to mount fully into the Printrbot extruder without making any changes to the E3d. To do this however I need to drill out a small area on the underside of the filament feed hole on the extruder for the plastic bowden ring on the E3d to fit. This allowed the E3d to slide all the way up into the printrbot extruder. I also needed to make an adapter bracket out of 1.8mm aluminum sheet. This is needed to be done because there is only about 4mm between the bottom of the extruder and the top cooling fan, so there is not enough room for a screw head and enough support from a printed part.
The "1102_for_E3d" part is the main part of this modification. It replaces the entire front end of the stock 1405 Y-axis. It also holds the extru
