Privacy Shutter for Smartphone Camera

With today's smartphones you can never be sure whether your camera is not being used surreptitiously by a nosy app or a rogue trojan. Surreptitiously accessing you main camera, e.g. while you are answering a call, may e.g. reveal your location or details of your home and your family.

This shutter gives you physical control over what your main camera is seeing at what point in time.

Update 28 Feb. 2021:

I added a base to increase the bonding area. Also the base gives you more flexibility in the selection of the sticker tape, in particular its thickness.

The shutter can now be inserted after assembly.

Update 27 Feb. 2021:

Make sure that your extrusion rate is high enough to fill the shutter without observation slits. To help I added a third 0.3 mm layer to the shutter. Check lightproofness by holding the camera towards bright sun
