This model has been inspired in a Thinguiverse design: (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1340624)
of a prosthetic index finger, and it is ideal for those missing one segment of the thumb –so that they still have a part of the proximal phalange bone-. This design has been designed to fit with any size of a thumb stump, but if it's necessary you can modify the mesures in order to make it more adaptable to your needs.
We must mention that we have not created this prosthesis only by ourselves:
we have received technical help from an engineer and medical help from an occupational
therapist who works with amputated patients.
IMPORTANT:
We are still working on this design. We haven't checked the prosthetic finger with any patient yet, so we are not sure if it will correctly satisfy the patient's needs.
