Pruning Saw Handle Replacement

Unfortunately, the plastic handle of my Sandvik 345 pruning saw broke after little use. The saw blade was still sharp, though had some surface rust, but not enough to be of concern. So, the saw blade needed a replacement handle. I could have crafted a replacement handle from wood, instead I decided to go with a 3D printed handle. Saw blade handles come in different shapes, but I went with the original general style. Though the original handle was in plastic (unsure what kind of plastic) and broke, a strong 3D print filament would be suitable. For strength and toughness, I decided to print the replacement handle in Nylon. PETG may have worked, too, but since I had Nylon filament and wanted to avoid a repeat plastic failure, so I went for the best 3D filament I had. The 3D design is in two pieces, sandwiching the original metal blade. The two halves are held together by two 20mm M5 bolts and an M13 bolt through the blade hole. The M13 bolt length was cut to size. The completed handle feels very solid and performs well in practise. Here is my 3D design. My design may match your needs, too. My print is made in Polymaker 1.75mm black Nylon filament, with 0.2mm layer height and 15% infill on a PRUSA I3 MK3S printer without print supports. I hope you can find this design useful, too.
