Fired up my old PS2 first time in years, and was astonished by the amount of noise the fan made. Guess we've gotten used to silent consoles since then. Decided to do something about it, and found [this](
https://www.ps2-home.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=52&t=8963) tutorial.
What began as a simple holder for a 60x25mm fan, ended up as a full replacement I/O panel, after deciding I didn't want to butcher any original parts if it could be avoided.
There are five models. The I/O panel, a fan holder to go with it, and a small extension for the spacer at the HDD bay (2nd pic shows where/how to use it). Also added the original standalone fan holder from before the decision to make a replacement panel, and a version of the panel that looks neater if you don't have the HDD adapter.
You'll need a 60x25mm fan for this. I used the Noctua NF-A6x25. Stole the connector from the stock fan, can easily be soldered back if you want to revert to original parts. The stock fan had the polarity print
