While there’s lots of tools that everyone will recommend for enhancing your 3D printing experience, there’s a tool at Parallel Goods that we consider indispensable: the Yasutomo Niji Woodcarving set. We use these small hand chisels daily for helping get stuck parts off the bed, cleaning up prints from stringy extrusion anomalies, and occasionally widening the hole on a printed part just enough to give a screw some bite.
Everyone on the Parallel Goods team has a set of these chisels, and we all shared a laugh when we realized the first thing we all used our own Push-Pin Organizers for was to hold our chisel sets. Co-founder and Design Lead Craig Stover decided to take his love for these chisels a step further and design an insert for our Push-Pin Organizer that allows the chisels to stand proud. He also created a set of caps for the ends of the chisels, allowing them to be quickly identified for the regular use they seem to get with our team.
