This housing is made for a 12V 2.0A (max) PWM controller sold here:

No screws are needed to assembly this item.
[MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS]
Remove the custom rim and hole-support.
Run the wires through the hole in the back cover.
Attach wires to the PWM controller.
Insert the PWM controller inside the housing and fasten the nut.
Push the back cover into it's slot.
Push on the knob onto the shaft.
3mm screws are used to mount it wherever you wish to mount it.
Correctly using it to provide speed control for a 18W 12V fan used for exhaust in a laser cutter. ( Delta FFB0812UHE It's awesome!)
