Mounts directly into 1/2" shank capacity tool holders.
Designed for fitment with Chicago 1" .001" grad. dial indicator, however this design should work with most 2 1/4" and smaller bezel dial indicators with a 1/4" through hole mounting lug.
Indicator can be reversed to allow for dialing in the end face of work-piece as well as radial indicating. Two positions are available in each configuration to allow for more flexible cross slide positioning and to accommodate longer travel dials.
A cut-away allows for pressing in a #10-32 standard nut, and a #10 machine screw securely fastens the dial to the mount.
Recommended to print with a dense infill, in orientation shown with support material.
I originally designed in the AXA dovetail but found that it is actually cheaper to purchase a premade AXA tool holder than to source the hardware required for the height adjustment. Using a ground AXA holder also means you benefit from its rigidity and repeatable positioning. I suggest
