I wanted to have a quick-disconnecting accessory for my keys since I hate when the whole keychain dangles on my leg when driving, or having to carry all keys when I need only one at work.
This is now my solution for this exact (very niche) problem :D and I hope to help at least one of you.
For this print you will need the following:
-2 pcs 10 x 2mm neodymium magnets
-2 pcs keyrings
I printed one piece for each keyset that gets regularly swapped (of course depending how many you print = that many magnets you will need)
The model can be printed in 7 minutes using only 2g of Filament (1g per piece)!!
I printed the ones seen in the pictures at 0.12mm layerheight with 4 walls and 50% infill.
To embed the magnets into the print you just have to pause the print at aprox. the 10th layer and insert them before resuming the print.
With my magnets it holds up to 240g easily.
The only point of failure I have found with the egg/round design is if you hold the printed part and twist or pul
