My entry for "The Generate Quadcopter Challenge" I really wanted to participate on this challenge but sadly i can't use the cloud based generative design software Generate, or another topology optimization software. So i used Solidworks to create the designe and optimize it the old fashioned way. My design is based on the I-beam structure. since this simple technology formed the basis of all tall buildings, railroads, bridges, planes and almost everything around us rely on this technology. The i-beam is designed in way to handle a maximum bending load while using the least amount of material. The i-beam i used may not seem familiar, because i shaped it in a way we can benefit the most of its properties while reducing the amount of material used. That's what makes this frame super lightweight.(frame mass = 5.19 grams)(material : ABS) The design features a room to protect the electronics from collisions, the battery and the motor controllers should be glued to the top of the frame. i added also hooks to the sides of the frame to attach the payload using straps.
