As water is becoming a precious good, I wanted to try using rain to cover one of the biggest house water consumption, the toilets flush.
By chance our toilet flush lays back to one of our house external wall. So the intake could easily by fed through a hole in that wall from an external tank.
As it is in constant contact with water, at least the main body can't be printed in PLA. I use ABS.
additional hardware
===============
To complete the assembly, one will need :
- a long M6 screw
- 2 x 3mm rods, I used carbon rods
- a neodymium magnet about 2x3x6 mm
- a big rubber washer. I made mine from a used bike inner tube
- if silence is required, a 10 mm diameter flexible tube
- a check valve for the water intake
- a piece of insulation foam
Assembly
========
First shape the piece of foam so that it becomes a float big like about a fist and fitting in your flush (look at the picture).
Then drill holes in it so that the part "flotteur
