I wanted something that could stay smaller scale and use cheap shoebox bins instead of printing a bin or using a rack system. I saw that many people add a mesh layer under their bins so the eggs fall through but I saw concerns of eggs falling on the floor when you open the bin so I figured I would design an all in one solution that keeps breeding colonies confined in one bin. Just place the raised beetle bin in a shoebox style bin, add substrate and beetles. Once the beetles lay eggs, they will get pushed through the substrate and into the bottom of the bin where they hatch and turn into mealworms. Once the mealworms pupa, place the pupa on the top try in the darkling beetle bin and repeat the process. I have two variations I am testing, one has 2mm holes in the tray and the other has 3mm holes. Both are large enough for the eggs to fall through but you probably
