THWOK!! That's the sound of the throwing knife from Ranger's Apprentice meeting a tree trunk! But BIGGER!
I designed this throwing knife based carefully off the descriptions found in the series, and modelled this specific item off a whittled knife design made many years ago.
This was intended to be printed in relatively hard TPU, which it did phenominally well!
I printed it in the upright position, so the base of the handle was touching the buildplate, and the tip was printed last. No support anywhere.
Before attempting this TPU print, I designed and printed these TPU tests to ensure I was prepared and calibrated: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5317395 .
I also have 2 versions of the sax knife, as well as a throwing knife with a smaller handle (the way it was meant to look, in my opinion), check those out if interested. Lastly, I have a full-sized double-sheath made for thee exact knives, also made for TPU, so check that one out as well.
