I use OctoPi on a Raspberry Pi computer as a 3D printing server on my SmartCore printer by SmartFriendz, and it has a nice webcam and timelapse feature, and I wanted to use some articulated support to set this mini camera on the printing board so it would always be aimed at the object being printed.
I found some RPI cam supports and articulated arms ideas, but it needed some tweaking and adjustments to fit my need, so I made this one…
As I built it in Blender, I included the .blend source file so you can easily modify it. You can, for instance, increase the length by using two adjustable arm sections instead of one, and make a different base plate to adjust it to different printers.
I guess it would also be cool to add supports on the camera case for LED lighting, I'd be curious to see that if you want to make that kind of improvements, so please let me know! ;)
I was, at first, inspired by this other RPIcam mount (I hope it's alright if I made a derivative version from this
