/! This is a work in progress! Meaning I haven't flown this aircraft yet. But I'm happy with the printed parts.
The main ideas were:
- Good looking aircraft
- Easily printable and flexible enough to accept both PLA and LW-PLA (see print settings for more details)
- Using very common and cheap RC stuff
- Glider version ready
- Rigid enough with removable wings for transportation
- Flexible design that makes the CG easily movable (pusher version)
- Lightweight overall and seeking for good performances
I had my heart set on the infinite wing design for its theoretically good performance and most importantly for the cool looking it provides together with its originality. Infinite wings are supposedly "induced drag free" since the vortex out of the wing tips are removed. This is of course in theory, but worth the design anyway.
I also chose a performant and yet versatile aerofoil: the Selig S3021, known for its good performance in highspeed and in slope soaring.
