When I found this Mac Pro (2013) case on the second-hand market for only $40, I couldn’t resist as an industrial designer. Even today, it still feels like a peak of industrial design. To make good use of it, I decided to turn it into a real desktop trash can. After several rounds of testing and small adjustments, I finally made the 3D-printed parts fit smoothly with the original case.I also kept the original screw holes in the base and recreated the iconic lock. When you flip the latch, you still get that familiar feeling of opening a Mac—so even when you’re putting in a trash bag, there’s still a bit of Apple-style fun.Parts needed:5 × M3 × 4 × 5 screws8 × magnets (3 mm diameter, 1.5 mm thick)
