Happy owner of a [Recalbox-JAMMA](https://www.recalbox.com/fr/recalbox-rgb-jamma/), I wanted to put an old SSD with my Recalbox-JAMMA rather than buying an SD card for 2 reasons:
- the first: the lifespan of an SSD compared to an SD card.
- the second: the USB adapter is cheaper than an SD card.
I therefore offer you my creation which will be installed below your RecalBox-JAMMA.
You will need :
- 1 recovery SSD, which we ended up having quite easily (with a maximum height of 9.5 mm.)
- 1 [SATA to USB 3 adapter](https://www.amazon.fr/Sabrent-Adaptateur-Optimis%C3%A9-support-EC-SSHD/dp/B011M8YACM/), this one is really good and takes up little space.
- 4xM3 16mm screws and their nuts
- 8xM3 5mm screws to fix the SSD.
If you do a full install of Recalbox on the SSD and not just use it as a sharing folder.
Since the Raspberry Pi5 is powered by our candy cab, it will certainly be necessary to add the line “usb_max_current_enable=1” in /boot/config.txt for it to start.
