I’m currently building a virtual pinball machine and wanted the front panel buttons to be recessed. Rather than trying to carve the recess directly into the wooden panel, I decided to design and 3D print a custom holder for the job. I couldn’t find any existing model that matched my needs, so I designed this from scratch.
The holder is made for standard American arcade buttons and allows them to sit neatly in the panel. Holder lip is 6mm, so there is room to print some sort of bezel for it. Or just paint / print it what colour you want.
I also created an alternate version where the side clips flex into place, but I didn’t personally need that feature for my cabinet.
Specifications
Fits: Standard American arcade button
Button hole diameter: 28 mm (≈1.10 in)
Mounting cutout diameter: 38 mm (≈1.50 in)
Cabinet panel thickness: 16 mm (≈0.63 in)
Notes
I printed these with supports.
Works great if you want a clean recessed look without cutting into wood.
