Printable design for reducing a hole in existing parts to hold a bolt or threaded shaft. This is a load-bearing design for maintaining concentricity, with an example assembly with a steel box and M6 nut/bolt combination. This part answers a key need for combining FDM with off-the-shelf parts - we want to design our assemblies with our choice of shaft diameters, and still utilize the value of our OTS parts designs. The first version inserts M6 screw in thin steel wall. The second version inserts M8 screw in thick 6mm steel wall. Prototyped and validated by DM 2025. visit qr.net/openlabproject for more info!
