Regalo child gate latch replacement

This is a replacement part for a "Regalo" child gate. The gate latch design has a thin metal plate press against the hard plastic latch bolt in an area where the bolt is the weakest. This means over a short period of time the bolt's "catch" fails.

This is still the same design and technically has the same failure point, however, Im wondering if printing it such that the layers are parallel with the direction of stress will allow it to last as long or longer than the original...
