This is an animatronic prop of a custom Star Wars astromech droid that I designed and built for my Mandalorian costume. It hangs off of my belt and can be controlled by an H-Bridge switch that is strapped to my left hand, and the wires run up my sleeve and down my shirt and onto my belt where it plugs into the droid.
The droid features a turning head (it can turn approx. 75° degrees) and an LED behind the "eye". The eye is a smartphone fisheye lens that is superglued into place on the droid's head. The "arms" on the side of the droid shell are modified from the legs of samroe3d's model "R2-D2 1/12 poseable".
I included a screenshot of my circuity schematic that I designed in Tinkercad and used as a wiring guide when installing the electronics into the droid.
have provided a short demonstration .gif with the photos, but I will be uploading a demonstration video as soon as I can.
