Plastic fin cans are extremely heavy compared to paper tubes and balsa. Using a regular body tube and balsa fins should yield higher altitudes and more forward CG.
I just sliced off the screw on top of the fin can, and set the OD to fit into an 18mm body tube (BT-20). I also created a 24mm version but I have not printed it, and can't guarantee the fit. Use 24mm for D engine or BT-50 tube.
Still printing the rest of the rocket. I made this set of fins while waiting for the prints.
HOW TO USE: Cut a BT-20 tube down to 2.75" (or the length of a motor). Use EPOXY GLUE to set the ring into one end of the tube. Make your own fins from scrap balsa (see pics). You will also have to mount an offset launch lug near the top of the fin can.
Use masking tape to secure the motor tight. The motor will extend past the end of the body tube about 1/4".
OPTIONAL: Print the Remix_engine_holder_screw and EPOXY GLUE it to the bottom of the body tube, and use with the original engine_holder_cap
