These parts allow you to use a 19mm ID hose (like from a CPAP) to route air to a E3D v5 or v6 hotend from a remote 40mm fan.
Designed for use in an enclosed printer.
Update. After putting the first version together and testing it, I made several changes to improve the airflow. Finally, I decided to see if I could turn the axial 40mm fan into a centrifugal fan. I cut the fan out of the housing and installed it in the new fan base I designed. The
second version flows significantly more air.
Update. After extensive testing, I'm happy to report that the
centrifugal modification works. It still has less airflow than the stock
fan. I was able to make prints of over 7 hours long with ABS with no
problems. The bottom two fins of the heat sink do get pretty hot, so chances are that there would be problems using it to print PLA.
