Did you know the “ball” inside a bell is called a “clapper ball”? Neither did I until I started exploring how to repair a broken hand bell where the “ball thing” became detached when the metal fitting inside of it disconnected from the loop of string, proving to be impossible to rethread. I cut the original clapper ball in half to retrieve the metal fitting and then modeled the same size clapper ball with a hollow interior and cylindrical opening + flange. Finished by splitting the model in half and adding connectors that friction fit or can be permanently sealed shut with a drop of glue.Am not a hand bell expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I would imagine most hand bells have a similar sort of attachment so feel free to adapt the model's dimensions to fit your needs!
