This model is my first try at using 3D printing tools. I didn't know all the nitpicks about how things work when creating this, so I just modeled something I thought looked nice. I used Autodesk 123D Design for this model.
Most of the design is based off of Metin Seven's raygun model. That can be seen here: http://www.metinseven.com/projects/a8Y60
I couldn't find an original file of his model, so I recreated my own from scratch using reference pictures, along with making a few personal additions I thought would give it a more Art Deco/50's look.
At 100% scale, it's roughly 16mm tall and 19mm long when fully assembled and fits nicely in my average sized hand.
Extrusions & holes have been added in certain places so realignment wasn't an issue during the final assembly, but the my tolerances ended up being far from perfect and I had to take dremel to most of the parts.
If you would like decide for yourself how the parts should be printed (whether cut up, printed as one soli
