RH Meter Mount

Under-lid humidity meter mount designed for the DeWalt ToughSystem 2.0 Large Box (DWST08300). This mount allows a small round hygrometer/thermometer to be installed on the underside of the lid without drilling or permanently modifying the case. We use these boxes for storing open 3D-printer filament, where they consistently maintain ~15% RH with approximately 250 g of silica desiccant. The design fits the common round mini hygrometer/thermometer widely available on Amazon. Installation uses three 3 mm brass heat-set inserts and 3×6 mm hex (round-head) cap screws. The ToughSystem lid already includes molded mounting points, allowing alternative screw-mounting methods if preferred. This approach keeps the meter protected, readable when the lid is opened, and fully removable while preserving the integrity of the box—no irreversible modifications required.
