I installed a retractable extension cord on the ceiling near my garage door motor, since there’s an outlet nearby. I needed a way to support the cable running to the outlet so it wouldn’t rub against the angled iron support that holds the garage door motor. To solve this, I made a simple bracket that fits into the holes of the angled metal. It allows the cable to be guided away from the metal support, so the extension cord stays supported and doesn’t rub against the metal. It’s such a simple design that I figure others might find it useful for similar purposes.
