I designed this to install a laser diode module on a rigidbot extruder carriage. I specifically have a 2.8W 445nm module from jtechphotonics.com, so that's what the measurements were based on.

You can attach the laser module with either zip ties or two M3x7mm (or longer) machine screws with M3 nuts.

This installs onto the printer using the two x carriage cap screws that would normally hold your part cooling fan in place. You should be able to use the original screws.

The mount was designed/tested on a single extruder Rigidbot Big. it should also work on the smaller model, and MIGHT work with the dual extruder setup.

I consider this to be a version 1.0. It works, but I would like more flexibility to keep a part cooling fan mounted and/or a laser-cooling/smoke blowing fan.

I added a photo of my first successful laser cut out of an aborted PLA print. You can also see to the left of the piece the difference between focused and unfocused accuracy of the laser - thin vs thic
