This is an Upgrade for the Y axis on a ROBO 3D printer. (Kick-starter version)
I made this upgrade because the original Y-Axis used drawer sliders and would jam up on a regular basis.
I currently have about 11" of Y-Axis movement using 24" rods. I was able to reuse the belting from the original Y-Axis. I plan on using some 48" long rods to give me ~23" of movement.
I used the following parts from McMastercarr
60595K73 : 1/2" Linear Ball Bearing
1346K18: 1/2" Steel Shaft 24" Long. (Longer Rods Possible)
7959K21: 1/4" Wide Timing Belt. Length to match your shaft length
You'll need to make a new bed to mount everything too. I used some plywood from the hardware store and some #10 screws. I'm printing PLA with Blue tape directly to the plywood and haven't had any problem.
Outstanding Items that need to be resolved:
Mounting the Heat Bed and Glass to the new Plywood bed.
