Students will reinforce their understanding of 2-Dimensional measurements such as perimeter and area along with basic 3-Dimensional measurements such as surface area and volume via the building and launching of model rockets. They will also be utilizing such concepts as angles of elevation, indirect measurement, the Pythagorean theorem, and trigonometry by building a clinometer and using it to collect data and estimate distances that cannot be measured directly.

CCSS.Math.Content.HSG-SRT.C.8 Use trigonometric ratios and the Pythagorean Theorem to solve right triangles in applied problems.
CCSS.Math.Content.HSG-SRT.D.11 Understand and apply the Law of Sines and the Law of Cosines to find unknown measurements in right and non-right triangles (e.g., surveying problems, resultant forces).
