This is an adapter to allow the Rode blimp windscreen to be directly mounted to a tripod without the handle assembly.
For the 1/4-20 tripod connection, this uses a 1/4-20 threaded insert: part number 93365A160 from McMaster Carr
I printed this out of polycarbonate and it's quite stout. Even in high winds I don't think this would be the part that would fail first.
