Hello everyone
This is my concept design of a frame for a Rodin Vortex Coil It is a magnetic device, and is used for wireless charging, speaker magnets, Mag Levs, and so on.
12 parts total - eleven Lugs, and one center hub.
This is my updated version, now with radial channels on the lugs to accommodate cable/ zip ties.
The construction of this Rodin Vortex Coil requires the following -
An FDM style printer, capable of printing in a 220x220x240mm of print space
2kg of PLA filament, color of choice
2 reels of 24AWG magnet wire, @ 500ft length, wound together @ 60ft, 12 winds
Zip ties or elastic bands to capture the winds on the 11 lugs on the frame
Enjoy!
UPDATE: 08June2018 -
I used 720ft of 22AWG magnet wire, and then braided it into 12 strands for a total length of 60ft. Winding the coil was, well "fun" - the cut channels for the zip ties were little biting hellions on my fingers throughout most of the winding. Still, it works & loo
