This Roller Gear was derived from a design in the book "Making Mechanical Marvels In Wood" by Raymond Levy. The picture shows my original implementation of the design in wood and this current 3D printed implementation.
This implementation was designed to print on a smaller printer. Tne max X/Y is 100mm. The max Z is 44mm.
Rather than use printed 1/4" rods, I used Acrylic rods obtained from eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/302188063853). These rods are not of a uniform thickness which is a good thing. You will be able to find sections of the rods that will press fit where needed and provide a sliding fit on the same rod.
