Roly-Poly Drink Holder Self-Righting Beach Cup & Can Holder This is a self-righting drink holder designed for the beach, poolside, garden, camping, picnics, or any outdoor setup where your drink can easily tip over. The idea is simple: the rounded weighted base allows the holder to rock left and right like a roly-poly toy, but return to an upright position instead of falling over. It is designed to hold cans, cups, and similar drink containers more securely on soft or uneven surfaces such as sand. How It Works The model is made from two printed parts: Lower weighted base This part is filled with ceramic casting powder, plaster-based casting powder, or gypsum casting powder to create the self-righting weight. Upper cup holder section After the lower base is filled and fully cured, the upper part screws onto the base and locks the design together. Once assembled, the product is ready to use. Important Use Note This product is designed to reduce tipping and help prevent spills during normal use, especially after some of the drink has already been consumed. It is not a sealed container, and it does not replace a lid. If a completely full open can or cup is hit hard, liquid may still spill out. The goal of this design is to stop the whole drink from tipping over and spilling everywhere, not to make an open full drink completely spill-proof. In simple terms: It tilts, rocks, and returns upright — but an open drink can still splash if it is completely full. Material Notes Recommended printed material: PETG Recommended filling material: Ceramic casting powder / plaster-based casting powder / gypsum casting powder Approximate filling ratio used in my prototype: 400 g powder + 180 g water Important: different brands may require different powder-to-water ratios. Please follow your own material’s instructions if they are different.
