I'm building this robot to get me started with ROS. I ordered the RP-LIDAR 2D 360 degree scanner and that going on the front of the robot as we can see by the model. That should give it SLAM capabilities, which will allow it to autonomously cruise a racetrack or check what's going on around the house.
