This is a custom design for converting a RoseWill RSV-4500 server case to be a 48 drive capable DAS. This design is inspired by storinator/backblaze pods and mount drive vertically in the case.
These designs are very rough, with the following known issues.
- The PCIe brace doe not quite line up correctly with the used SAS expander but works well enough if the card is lashed to the brace.
- There are no holes to mount the fan spacers to the vase, these were drilled by hand and are held in place using screws that hold on the case faceplate.
- There are no holes to mount the backplane brackets to the case, these were drilled by hand and screwed into the case manually.
- One of the countersunk holes for the screws to hold the drive spacers together was forgotten.
These issues will be fixed soon enough, but are noted so as to clarify them.
The prints are held together using M3 screws and threaded inserts.
Everything was printed at 0.2mm layer height, however, mos
