ROTA Board Game - Bookcase Edition ROTA Board Game ROTA (Radmühle, Terni Lapilli or Wheel Mill) is a 2-player ancient Roman and Greek strategy game. The authenticity of the game is uncertain and was found during excavations. ROTA is played on a wheel board with 9 spaces. Each player gets 3 coin tokens. The first person to align 3 tokens in a row (across the center or along the edge) wins. MILL Board Game The larger board is used to play the game MILL, where players take turns moving their 9 coin tokens to form a Mill (3 in a row), allowing them to capture opponent tokens. The game ends when a player is reduced to 2 tokens or is unable to move. “There she found the swaggering suitors, just then amusing themselves with boardgames before the doors, lounging on hides of oxen…” Translation from HOMER (Book 1 The Odyssey lines 106-108) 700BCE GAME COMPONENTS ROTA Board Game - Bookcase Edition set includes: 2 Level Board (ROTA-Upper & MILL-Upper & Lower) 9 Black Coins 9 Silver Coins 1 Bookcase Edition Box BOOKCASE EDITION BOX The ROTA Board Game - Bookcase Edition game also includes a Bookcase Edition Box with a slide top.
