A replica of ROTARY SWITCH (2-pole switching), for a shockproof socket 230V~/50 Hz, as they are used in most of the countries in europe. This ROTARY SWITCH is in principle an adapter between the power socket and an electric load. You can connect and disconnect an electrical load directly on the power outlet, without using the switch of the electrical device. Some technical notes: All copper-coloured contact springs (4x) are modeled in the assembled status. The exact manufactured geometry must be defined after a calculation for the contact forces. May be a FEM-Analysis/-Simulation makes sense, after the first definition of a mechanical pre-loading. The contact springs, moveable by the switching cam, are shown in the closed position only. The rotation angle for switching "on"/"off" is 60 angle degree. /!\ Attention /!\ : This ROTARY SWITCH is designed for a maximmum current of 16 A. The plastic parts must be manufactured of an electrically insulated material, such as »ABS« for example. Please be careful, if you want to use this model for 3D-printing and ensure, that all components are correctly and tight assembled in the way, as shown in the model. In my opinion it's a well thought out idea, for a simple realization, to switch electrical devices externally "on" and "off". It took me a lot of time for measuring all dimensions as accurately as possible, for creating a model, near to the original product. But all the effort was well worth it. And so I think that 1 "Download" = 1 "Like". The simple animation, done with »KeyShot 4.0« , shows the switching action "OFF/ON" The model is available in following formats: STEP-file (.stp) of the complete assembly and the native files, (.prt) and (.asm), in a (.zip)-folder, for all users of »PTC Creo Parametric 2.0«
