Round LED lamp standoff

This is a short, angled standoff to allow fitting a round recessed ceiling light in the top of a Torchiere floor lamp. Use an 8"/200mm or 9"/225mm dia. low profile round LED panel light. Standoff allows for some cooling air flow around the edge of the lamp and leaves room for the lamp driver underneath.

You'll need 3 M3x8 or M3x10 screws to attach three standoffs to the round lamp, replacing 3 of the 6 shorter screws holding the back plate on. For floor lamps with a translucent center section, drill/punch a few holes in the backing plate and reflector sheet to let some light leak out the back of the lamp.

Remove the halogen light bulb socket, install LED driver (dimmable if your floor lamp has a dimmer switch) using the two original wire nuts.Plug round panel light into the driver and that's it. You can add some BlueTak to the bottom of the standoffs if you want the light to stay in place.
