Here is the next generation of Ryobi battery hacks. Variable portable power anywhere. If you're like me, I have multiple Ryobi tools and batteries. I just couldn't see not using that on other devices so I was motivated to build an adjustable power regulator for whatever I needed power for and this is the outcome. The STL file supplied, is slightly modified from the one shown. I added a window for the adjustable potentiometer and a cutout for the adjusting tool. (I drilled the one in the photo). In this design, you'll need to apply external power to set it as the battery stem is in the way of the adjustment. I just used a bench supply but you could use a battery from my other project that just gives you bare wires. I recycled the power cord but the other parts came from Amazon. The key here is the little step-down buck converter which are less that $2 each (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H3YR9BG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and it is a tight fit.
