Here is a magnetic mount I made up to hold my Ryobi flashlight when I'm not using it. I store my batteries in my home during the winter months, and usually the light is left at the last place it was used. So I decided it needed a home. The design is based off the battery tower of the 18V batteries. The base of this mount has four counterbored holes to hold magnets. The counter bored bottom keeps the magnets from pulling out of the part, as such can happen with a straight thru hole.
The magnets I used are Indigo Instruments - 44205-5. They measure 15x5. The magnets had a mild press fit when I installed them, but if you use different ones and they are loose, simply superglue in place. If you want to remix it to suit your needs, be my guest, I included a STEP model and a Parasolid along with the STL.
Mine was a tight fit, I had to sand it some to get the desired fit. Some of the geometry off due to a generic GrabCAD model. I measured an actual battery and sized the model ac
