UPDATE- I made changes to the mounting tabs on both standard and extended hoppers. so they fit a little better.
This hopper will allow you to dispense anything granular from a drone. This particular hopper is designed for the DJI S1000. It can be used for fire ant poison or fertilizer application.
You will need a continuous rotation servo to drive the auger. in my case i used a HItec HS-645MG metal gear servo. I converted it to continuous rotation. You can follow this simple tutorial here to do it yourself http://www.instructables.com/id/Converting-Micro-Servos-for-Continuous-Rotation/.
The servo horn will need to be trimmed to fit the auger dogs. You can see this in the pictures.
I am using a Arduino nano for accurate and repeatable dispenses. you can just plug the servo directly to the receiver if you wanted to operate it manually.
