I carry my switch around to use as an android tablet, and don't typically carry the joycons with my kit. These slot into the existing switch rails and replace the joycons, adding additional protection incase of drops etc. As an added benefit, because I used the actual metal rail from official joycons, I was able to solder a jumper between pin 10 and pin 1 or 7, meaning my right Sadpro also doubles as an RCM jig. The rail buttons operate the official latch pin, so it attaches as securely as a real joycon.
They are hollow, and designed to break if dropped, absorbing impact in place of the switch. This theory has been 'tested' successfully in the field, with no damage to the switch itself. Totally unrelated, if you glue magnets into the tops, they just barely hold the switch on metal walls, cabinets etc.
hardware required:

(I cut the brown flex cables right off, but if anyone has any ideas for what they could be used
