This is the Schwarz D (Diamond) minimal surface structure, first described by German mathematician Hermann Schwarz in 1890 πThe βDiamondβ name comes from its topology, which follows the same connectivity pattern as carbon atoms in a diamond crystal lattice. Compared to the gyroid, it has more defined channels and sharper transitions, making it useful for applications like heat exchangers, acoustic control, and advanced battery designs. This model was printed on a Bambu A1 Mini using Bambu Lab Basic White PLA π¨οΈ It prints reliably with the included profile and produces a very strong and clean result.Minimal surfaces like this are not just visually interesting β they are also incredibly efficient structural geometries.
