Neat little jig that holds a self-tapping screw (or drill bit if you like being sketchy) perpendicular to the surface for it to be drilled into, with a tab for some sort of tape to hold it down (the red part), and a retaining clip that you can remove once the screw has started to "bite" (the blue part).

I needed to install another shelf onto my desk, and didn't want to deal with installing brackets, so I made a jig I could tape to the side of my desk, align the shelf to it, drill the self-tapping screws into it, then disassemble the jig and continue to screw them in. I didn't want to question if the alignment was off-kilter, or placed incorrectly, or if the screw might dance a bit before settling into where it should tap into, I wanted it to just be right.

I normally use GRK 114069 self-tapping cabinet screws, so the default size and included STL is approximately for that (pictured). F
