Screw compressor

A screw compressor operates via positive displacement, using two helical rotors (male and female) that rotate in opposite directions to trap and compress air or gas. As the rotors turn, air is drawn in, trapped between the lobes, and moved along the decreasing volume between the threads, increasing pressure until discharged.
